I am pretty sure you have not been on this blog since I first set it up, but there have been a couple of changes I have made to the website and the event as a whole.
Firstly, because of my fears of little participation (and frankily embarrassment) over the logo design competition, I have decided to whip up a set of logos and a suitable slogan to go with it.
The slogan to go with the new logos is 'Past. Present. Future.' I felt this reflects the design of the three logos, and fits well with the purpose of these celebrations: to relive the memories, to enjoy the atmosphere, and to look to tomorrow.
Secondly, I realise now that the thought of a relay was possibly a bit too nostalgic of the London Olympics (I sadly wasn't chosen to carry the flame). However, I feel the idea of a journey transporting a feeling to a location too tempting. Therefore, I have decided to rethink the Relay, possibly shortening the route, or rethinking the purpose of the journey. Check upon the Relay page for more up-to-date info.
Thirdly, I don't know if you've noticed, but it has been almost half a year since I have given thought over the website, and indeed the event itself. Yet after the passing away of one of the original house-owners, Alison Ross, I feel that the event has more meaning, since this year the ashes of Alison along with her husband Kenneth may be scattered upon a Scottish mountain or location. Therefore, over the next few months (not very much time), you'll see me working as busy as a bee to layout the basic structure of the event. Last minute bits can be sorted out when it comes to it.
I hope that this is the sort of event my grandmother would be proud of...
